Lead brick

This material often is used in walls for radiation shielding protection when the lead thickness requirement is 1" or greater, such as in a linear accelerator room. It is available up to 2-1/2" thick. Multiple layers of brick are used for higher lead thicknesses.

The brick is designed to interlock at all surfaces. Each brick plugs into the adjacent brick, assuring no straight-line leakage is possible.
