| Cut Sheets/Machining Forms
Door Machining Sheets: Lead lined doors are available in both wood and hollow metal. There are two designs for wood doors: CoreClad® (lead under the faces) and center lead. To view the CoreClad® design, click on the PDF link below. Fire labels up to 60 minutes, in both neutral pressure and positive pressure, are available for doors with lead under the faces up to 1/4" lead requirements. When submitting cut sheets for wood door orders, please specify which design is required. For lead lined doors with fire ratings greater than 60 minutes, hollow metal must be used.
Door Frame Cut Sheets: Lead lined door frames come in both double rabbet and single rabbet designs. The standard material for these frames is 16 gauge cold rolled steel, but heavier gauge steel is available for heavier lead requirements. For shielding applications where the door swings TOWARD the shielded wall (the lead lined door is on the same side of the stop as the lead lined drywall), Type 1 standard half lining will apply. When the door swings AWAY from the shielded wall (the lead lined door is on the opposite side of the stop from the lead lined drywall), Type 2 full lead lining is required to prevent the possibility of radiation leakage at the stop. Please specify on the door frame cut sheets if Type 2 lining is required.
Window Frame Cut Sheets: Lead lined window frames come in both double rabbet and single rabbet designs. The standard material for these frames is 16 gauge cold rolled steel, but heavier gauge steel is available for heavier lead requirements. Viewing windows may be designed as as single pane or multi-panes with mullions. Voice transmissions are available on all designs.
Metal Vision Kits and Wood Door Trime for Door Lites: A&L Shielding offers various types of metal kits and wood trim for lead lined wood doors with lites. Listed below are cut sheets of the different types of kits and trim available for both CoreClad® (lead under the faces) and center lead construction. Where fire labels exist, labeled wire glass must also be used in conjunction with lead glass. |
